The Battle Of The Mouth Of The La Plata River Was A Naval Battle That Occurred During World War II. The Pocket Battleship Graf Spee Of The German Navy Began To Engage In Destructive Warfare In The South Atlantic And Indian Ocean In September Of That Year, Attacking Allied Merchant Ships And Attracting A Large Number Of Allied Warships. In This Naval Battle, The Graf Spee Encountered Interception By Three Allied Cruisers - The Royal Navy' S Exeter, Ajax, And The New Zealand Navy'S Achilles - In The Waters Off The Mouth Of The La Plata River Off The Coast Of Argentina And Uruguay. In The Subsequent Battle, The Exeter Was Heavily Damaged, And The Other Two Light Cruisers Were Also Damaged. However, They Succeeded In Expelling The Graf Spee To The Port Of Montevideo And Eventually Forced The German General Ship To Scuttle. The Spee Pocket Battleship Is The Most Legendary Of The Only Three Pocket Battleships In The German Navy, And It Has Been Sleeping Underwater Near The Port Of Montevideo, The Capital Of Uruguay, For 64 Years.
