Description
The sand spreader PR-53 came into being in the early 1960s. It was developed by the Design Bureau of the Moscow City Development Department on the chassis of the GAZ-52 truck and was equipped with a dump body with a volume of 2.2 cubic meters. Mass production of the PR-53 began in 1966. The first batch of vehicles was manufactured by the Experimental Machinery Plant of the Moscow Municipal Improvement Department and the Sverdlovsk Municipal Equipment Plant, and later the production was transferred to the Arzamas Municipal Engineering Plant.
The PR-53 sand spreader is equipped with a sand hopper, a scraper conveyor, a spreading disc, and a hydraulic system. A set of plow-brush snow removal equipment is also installed on the vehicle.
