Offered today from a local estate is a wonderful example of a copper lustre waste bowl. The bowl measures 4 3/4" diameter with a height of 2 1/2". This piece was manufactured in the early 1800's.
A 1" tan band circles the bowl and provides a nice contrasting backdrop for a series of copper brush strokes in a stylized motif. It is a striking piece and shows no signs of cracks. There are a few barely visible flea bites on the rim of the bowl.
