Suggested Usage: Use between one and two teaspoons of leaves per cup of 85 degree water (185 fahrenheit) for up to one minute. Increase the steeping time for each subsequent brewing.

Well-known for its exquisite making and fine appearance, Xinyang Mao Jian is a popular green tea for the domestic market. Started from the eighth century and finalized about 200 years ago, this tea won a gold medal in Panama Pacific International Exposition, San Francisco, in 1914 and selected in top-ten in 1958.
Through the harvest continues from spring to fall, tea from spring and fall has the better taste. The standard picking is one shoot with one young leaf. It would need about 50,000 bud leaves for every 500 gram tea. Picking for the second and third grade is one shoot with two tender leaves.
Located at the south of Henan Province where Dabie Mountain lying across China's central plains, Xinyang County has clearly demarcated four seasons. Recuperated during a cold snowy winter, tea from here contain more contents, like amino acid and antioxidant, than many of those from the south, making a superior base for a first-class green tea. The county is also a tourist resort for its virgin forest and historical remains.
