Wuyishan loose oolong, known as the "Big Red Robe", produced by the monks of Tian Xin Yong Le Chan Si Monastery.
天心永乐禅寺, that means: "Chan Monastery Of The Heaven's Will And Eternal Joy" is an ancient Buddhist temple lost in the Wu Yi Shan mountains. The chronicle of the monastery has been going on since 801 AD!
The founder of the monastery was a monk named Yi Seng. Having built a hut deep in the mountains, he practiced Chan Buddhism there, and also started cultivating tea bushes and making tea, which is no coincidence, since the history of tea was originally to a great extent, associated with monasteries and Buddhist rituals. Thus, it is believed that the history of the famous tea sort with the name Da Hong Pao (Big Red Robe) began from here!
Roasting is closer to medium level. Taste with notes of cinnamon, chocolate and coffee.
