In 1931, he was employed as a technician in the kiln section of Jiangsu Provincial Ceramic vocational school. In 1954, he entered Shushan ceramic production cooperative. In November 1955, he began to recruit the first batch of students to teach purple sand production skills for purple sand factory. In 1956, he was appointed as a "technical instructor" of purple sand by the people's Government of Jiangsu Province, Become one of the famous "seven famous artists of purple sand".
