Its original name was Zhu Kaichang, and its stage name was "Kexin", implying that "an open-minded person can learn from others" and "a glass of water in the mountain can clear the heart of heaven and earth". At the age of 14, he took Wang Shengyi as his teacher and became a teacher friend with Wu Genyun. In 1931, he was employed as a kiln technology worker in Yixing Ceramic Vocational School, Jiangsu Province, where he created purple clay coffee sets. The next year, Yunlong Ding and Zhujie Ding were elaborately made and participated in the Chicago Expo, and won the "Grand Prize". In December 1953, the "National Folk Artist Observation Conference" took part in the exhibition with Yunlong Pot and Yuansong Bamboo Plum Pot. In 1959, he participated in the World Ceramics Exhibition held by the Palace Museum in Beijing as a representative of the cooperative. His works Squirrel Grape Pot and Songzhu Meisanyou Pot were selected for the "China Arts and Crafts Tour Exhibition" and won the first prize. In 1959, he spent more than four months elaborately copying the Saint's Peach Cup collected by Nanjing Museum and won the award. During the vigorous period of creation, Ruyi pot, Yunyu pot, Gaofeng coffee set, welcome wine set, Wanshou pot, Wanmei pot, Kexin pear pot, etc. were designed and produced. Many styles have become popular products of purple clay pottery. In 1964, he meticulously imitated Chen Mingyuan's knapsack pot, reaching the level of perfect purple clay craftsmanship.
