--The T-62 was developed as the successor to the T-55.
――The appearance was announced for the first time at the [20th Anniversary Celebration Parade against Germany] held at [Red Square] in Moscow in 1965.
――The bowl-shaped turret inherited from the T-55 is characterized by being equipped with the world's first smoothbore, a 55-caliber 115mm smoothbore.
――It was more powerful than the 105mm rifle, the main battle tank of Western countries at that time.
――The turret equipped with the smoothbore had a shape close to a perfect circle when viewed from the top, and was cast integrally up to the top.
--The engine is equipped with a V-55V 4-stroke V-type 12-cylinder liquid-cooled diesel engine.
