Legends of Longjing Tea  Admiration from the Imperial Family Longjing tea can be datan be dated back to the Tang Dynasty(618-907), more than 1400 years ago. It has been famous in China since the Song Dynasty (960-1279), prevailing in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing dynasties. 

Now longjing tea is our National Tea. West lake dragon tea do as the official tea during The Group of Twenty Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors(G20) in 2016, then more famous around the world because its taste & its good for health.

Longjing tea, also known as West Lake Dragon Well tea, was named according to its production region-Longjing Village of West Lake in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. West Lake Dragon Well tea is the top list of the ten most famous teas in China, it is characterized by its green color, delicate aroma, mellow taste and beautiful shape.

The five main production regions are Lion Peak (Shi Feng) Mountain, Longjing Village, Five Cloud (Wuyun) Mountain, Tiger Running (Hupao) Temple and Meijiawu. The superior geographical environment and good quality water resources around West Lake have contributed much to the growth of Longjing tea.

Health Effects: Longjing tea is a delicious beverage with potential health benefits owing to its rich antioxidant content. However, The tea is rich in caffeine, so pls drink tea in moderation.

Picking Timeliness and Manufacturing Techniques

Both the picking and making processes of Longjing tea are elaborate in order to make sure it retains its high quality and original flavor, according to which Longjing tea is classified into six grades (from superior to the fifth grade).

More importance is emphasized on the timeliness of the leaves being picked, and the tea leaves that are picked before the Qingming Festival (Tomb-Sweeping Day, April 4/5) are considered to be the top grade. The tea before Grain rain day is also in good quality. The shape maybe not pretty enough, but both the taste & aroma & are better than the tea leaves picked before Qingming. 

The process of making Longjing tea is very strict; It usually employs iron pans for baking the tea, and it involves ten techniques based on different temperatures and moisture, including shaking, grasping, buckling, pressing, grinding, rubbing, and throwing.

A skillful tea-making master knows exactly how and when to use a certain technique according to the changes of moisture and temperature.

How to Make a Perfect Cup of Longjing Tea

Preparation: Prepare 3-5g Longjing tea, a glass cup, some boiled water.

1.Rinse tea cup

Pour 1/3 boiled water to the cup, and shake it gently. To wash the cup and warm the cup. Then pour out the water.

2.Rinse tea leaves

Put about 3-5g tea leaves into the cup, then pour the water(75-85) into the cup of 1/3 place. Then shake the cup slowly, the tea aroma comes out.

3.Pour the water

Pour the water to the cup of 8/10 place, and pls wait around 35 seconds.

4.Add the water again

Pour the water to full, then wait for a moment, until the tea leaves have dilated owing to the absorption of the wate. Then you can enjoy the Longjing tea.
