坝糯属勐库十六寨，属勐库大叶种，三百年前由西双版纳引进至勐库后变种，历代皆为云南名茶，相传是距今三百年前由西双版纳引进至勐库后变种。勐库古茶山以冰岛为界分东、西半山，所产之茶各具特色。坝糯大寨是勐库东半山茶的代表，也是现存古茶树多的寨子。正是有了这样的生态环境，给我们培育了不同风味的茗品。

所谓“黄片”，说白了就是老茶树上的老叶子，因为多数老叶时间长了会泛黄，“黄片”因此得名。其实是指在原料筛选拣工序中，因条索疏松、粗大，在揉捻过程中不成条的部分，按照生产标准拣出来的这部分茶箐，俗称为“黄片”。黄片的品质和所选原料茶箐的品质是一致的，就我有限的所知大部分基本都是第三叶。只是因外形不佳而被拣出，但并不意味着品质不好。相反，老叶子由于叶片组织厚实，反以甘醇厚的滋味和持久耐泡见长。
